Select Apple products purchased for PERSONAL USE are exempt from sales tax during Back to School (BTS) Sales Tax Holiday Dates at Apple, sold & shipped by Amazon, Best Buy, BrandsMart & other retailers - includes online and B&M stores.

Eligible Products, Price Limits & Dates vary by state. For more info: Apple.com, Federation of Tax Administrators, Sales Tax Institute.
If item is ordered & paid for, but delivery is after the holiday, item is still tax exempt.
Merchants follow the specific state's time zone. Exceptions: 1) WV: Time zone of seller's location determines the authorized time period for the sales tax holiday when the purchaser & seller are located in different time zones.
At Apple.com, tax savings may not appear during checkout, but will be reflected on the final receipt
Partial Tax Exemptions Do Not Apply - Total Price Cannot Not Exceed Price Limits: (Except Arkansas & SC) If item sells for more than the threshold (e.g. $1700 for MBP & the threshold is $1500), tax must be paid on entire selling price

All authorized online and B&M retailers are required to participate if they are registered to collect tax in a state with a tax holiday & open during the specified dates - it's the law & violates tax codes. Exceptions: 1) Businesses approved by the state's tax agency (e.g. low volume of gross sales, Florida - refer to TIP No. 22A01-08); 2) New Mexico.
